Working from home most of the time, I place great importance on my workspace. I pay close attention to my seating, as I find it very difficult to stay seated for long on a chair that feels uncomfortable, and I can't count the number of evenings I've complained about lower back pain. I've been using a chair from our dining room for a few months now, but it was time to find something more serious.

So I started looking at what was available on the market, and I must say that there were actually few options for me: either a gaming chair or an ergonomic chair.

Why not a gaming chair?

The downside of gaming chairs is that it's primarily marketing; brands like SecretLab, Noblechairs, and others, while attractive, seem more "expensive" than comfortable to me.

I'm aware that you need to try them to form an opinion, but a price of around €500 was a barrier for me. Also, I must admit that I'm no longer particularly drawn to the "gaming" aspect of the chair, preferring to emphasize aesthetics and comfort—well, I'm a dad now.

Sihoo to the rescue

After some research, I came acrossSihoo, which offers ergonomic chairs that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also affordable. I tried to find some reviews, and the conclusions I observed convinced me to give it a try. By comparing prices on various sales sites, thanks to myAmazon price comparator, I was able to find theSihoo C300for €290; three days later, it was at my home.

A well-thought-out packaging

Overall, I was pleasantly surprised and satisfied with the packaging and wrapping of the chair. All the parts were neatly organized and carefully packaged, with even special attention to certain details, such as the left parts in a different colored packaging than the right parts. Moreover, all the mounting screws are packaged separately, labeled, and organized by function. This greatly facilitates assembly, as you don't have to search for the right screws. A nice touch is that the necessary tools for assembly are included, along with a small (very small) pair of gloves.

All the chair parts give an impression of quality; the metal parts are "heavy" and seem robust. Thanks to the instructions and organized screws, assembly takes just a few minutes. Most screws come with washers and anti-loosening washers, which adds to the attention to detail.

My first impressions

Once assembled, I was eager to try it out. This chair is very "configurable," in the sense that you can adjust quite a few things:

  • Armrests: height, depth, and orientation
  • Headrest for good neck support
  • Backrest: tilt (note that the lumbar support follows the tilt of the back and stays in place if you lean back a bit more)
  • Seat height

My opinion on the Sihoo C300 chair

As I write these words, I've been using the chair daily for about 14 days, and I am completely satisfied.

If I had to find one thing to criticize, it would be that the seat feels quite "hard"; I've experienced more comfortable seats in this regard. However, for a price of around €300, I believe it's really hard to find better. And above all, since I've had it, I no longer have back pain at the end of the day, with the lumbar support providing a real benefit.

It's difficult to find places to try out various office chairs. Whether they are gaming chairs, more classic chairs, or ergonomic ones, it's not easy to find complete showrooms. I went around and was able to try a few ergonomic chairs; however, they seemed quite similar to the Sihoo that I had already been eyeing online but at significantly higher prices (about double the price).

Just a small note: this is not a sponsored post, I searched for and bought this chair myself.
